How to have Sex after Marriage
Wednesday 3 Oct 2007
Each week a relationship psychotherapist Anjula Mutanda and her team of Dating Expert Sam Van Rood and Sex Writer Catherine Townsend take a couple with a non-existent sex life and try to put some passion back in their bedroom. It’s a tough emotional journey which begins when the couple are forced to face their problems head on and rate each other out of ten in three very personal categories. Emotion, Appearance and Sex. After the shock of having to face the truth they are then separated and concentrate individually with the experts on improving their scores.
They’ll be put through the mill emotionally and given a+ sexual overhaul before being reunited with their partner in a dream location on a romantic second honeymoon. But will they have learnt how to have sex after marriage again?
Watch How To Have Sex After Marriage every Wednesday from 3rd October 2007, at 9pm on Five.
Episode 1 – Megan & Richard Marshall 37-year-old Rick and 36-year-old Megan Marshall from Laceby in Lincolnshire have been together for 7 years. They both brought children into the marriage but their one and only child together, Charlie, was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect soon after his birth 6 years ago and since then the couple have both stopped work to look after him. Rick and Megan's once-vibrant sex life has understandably suffered under the strain of caring for a sick child; guilt-ridden Megan has lost her self-confidence and keeps herself overly busy to keep her anxieties at bay; meanwhile Rick has been emasculated by giving up his job, and spends most of his evenings at the local pub before coming back and attempting misguided seduction techniques.
Anjula, Cat and Sam get to work rebuilding Rick and Megan's stalled marriage by encouraging Megan to stop, relax and see the value of time to herself with a trip to a sensory deprivation floatation centre; while Rick is sent to charm school to learn the art of seduction and work on those broken and ineffectual chat up lines. Megan's libido is given the kiss of life when she gets to direct a S&M themed photo-shoot and Rick is taught the holy grail of foreplay: a little known but highly effective cunnilingus method called 'The Kivin Technique' by a lesbian who designs sex toys for women.
With their marriage on the line will this be enough to reignite the spark of Rick and Megan's once-rampant passion?
